Once when my mother was young, she was herding sheeps with her brother in Somalia. He brother left to go get something from the house. She was left alone, middle of nowhere, deserted under the scorching sun of Somalia. Moments later, she noticed that that there was a lion on the other side of a tree, about 20 feet away from where she was standing. frozen on stand, she pretty much thought  khalaas, this was it. SubhanaAllah, the lion did not look, nor star nor saw her presence…he turned the other way around and walked away. All the possibilities that could have happened at that moment are far to great, But it was not written for her head to be snapped into two at that moment.

Every affliction that falls on the earth or yourselves, already exists in a Book before it is brought into being by us. No doubt that is easy for Allah to accomplish. (Surah al-Hadid, 57:22)

واعلم أن ما أخطأك لم يكن ليصيبك ، وما أصابك لم يكن ليخطئك

.  And know that what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you, and what has befallen you was not going to pass you by.”[40th hadith, #19]

The Prophet(Peace and blessing be upon him) said

“I have left you upon clear proof , its night is like its day, no one deviates from it except one who is destroyed, and whoever lives long from amongst you will see great controversy. So stick to what you know from my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the orthodox, rightly-guided caliphs - cling to that with your molar teeth, and stick to obedience even if it is to an Abyssinian slave, since the believer is like a submissive camel, wherever he is led, he follows.”
